Shopify SEO QuickFix
Shopify SEO QuickFix is a Chrome extension that helps users review common on-page SEO elements and, when requested, audit product URLs from the same Shopify store. This policy explains what information the extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
1. Information the extension accesses
When you start an audit, the extension may access information from the webpage or URLs you choose to analyze, such as:
- Page URL and page type;
- Page title and meta description;
- H1 heading count;
- Canonical URL presence;
- Image counts and missing or empty alt attributes; and
- SEO scores, detected issues, and recommendations generated from those elements.
The extension uses this information to provide SEO checks and reports. It does not require your Shopify account password, payment information, or Shopify Admin access for its core auditing features.
2. How information is used
Information accessed during an audit is used to perform the requested SEO analysis, display results, and create an optional CSV report. The extension does not intentionally sell personal information or use audit data for advertising.
3. Local storage
The extension uses Chrome's local extension storage to preserve URLs entered for a bulk audit, including when the popup closes or a permission prompt interrupts the workflow. These URLs remain in your browser's extension storage until changed or removed, or until the extension's stored data is cleared or the extension is uninstalled.
Audit results may also be held temporarily in the extension interface. CSV files are created locally in your browser when you choose to export them.
4. Network requests and third parties
For bulk audits, the extension may request the product URLs you provide directly from the relevant store so it can analyze the returned HTML. Those requests go to the selected website and are subject to that website's policies and technical controls. The extension does not intentionally send audit results to a separate analytics server or developer-operated backend.
This policy must be updated if a future version adds analytics, advertising, remote processing, AI services, a backend, or other third-party data transfers.
5. Permissions
The extension requests permissions needed for its features. These may include access to the active tab, scripting, local storage, and optional access to the specific store domain you choose to audit. Optional website access should be limited to the relevant domain and requested when needed.
6. Data sharing and sale
The extension does not intentionally sell user data or share audit data with third parties for their own advertising purposes. Information is processed as described in this policy to provide SEO auditing and export features.
7. Security and retention
The extension is designed to process audit data locally in the browser. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free. You can remove saved URLs by clearing the extension's local storage or uninstalling the extension. Only audit pages you are authorized to access and analyze.
8. Children's privacy
Shopify SEO QuickFix is a productivity tool for website owners and SEO professionals and is not designed specifically for children.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the extension's features or data practices change. The revised version will be published at the same policy URL with an updated revision date.
